Eva M. Álvarez has a Degree in Science of Education, Expert in Program Evaluation and Master of Advanced Studies in Research Methods for Social Sciences. She began her career in the educational field but, over the years and after complementing my training with a Master in Management and Business Administration, she took the leap to Project Management and Consulting. At present, her main focus is on Strategic Communication, Social Media, Marketing 3.0 and Project Evaluation and she collaborates with leading companies and educational institutions internationally.
Javier de Andrés Rivero
University of Murcia (Spain)
Javier received a degree in Informatics Engineering from the University of Murcia. In 2000, he worked as a consultant in several research and development projects for American Express, OEI and Comunitel. For the last ten years he has been working at University of Murcia where he has colaborated in projects related to the university smart card. Currently he is the director of Smart Card Projects and coordinator of the International University Smart Card Research Centre.
José María Deza
Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre (Spain)
José María Deza is a Telecommunications Engineer specialized in microelectronics and holds a master’s degree in Information Technologies (Projects Management and Quality Assurance). He joined Fabrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre (FNMT) in 2000 as smart cards’ operating systems programmer, assuming in 2002 the directorship of the team involved in the development of financial smart card. Two years later he started working as project manager of the smart cards division within FNMT taking on the deployment on new development techniques and quality management system. Since 2006 he is also responsible of all the activities related with end-user support and software development on identification documents and smart cards, where he is also working as the commercial director.
Brian Foster
InnoSoft Canada
Brian Foster has a diversified background in information technology and management. Mr. Foster is currently the CEO of InnoSoft Canada Inc; a London-based technology company that specializes in recreational management software. Mr. Foster was previously CEO of BNW Software and guided BNW’s significant growth cumulating in its acquisition by a US publicly traded company in 2004. Mr. Foster is also a board member and shareholder of a variety of technology based companies. He has worked for more than 20 years in information technology, including Western University, in various management roles. Mr. Foster enjoys travel, coaching soccer and playing golf when time permits.
Tor Fridell

Tor Fridell, MSc, is Head of Student Information Systems at Linkoping University. He has worked withthe development of the campus card at LiU from the start in 2002 and is currently the President of ECCA.
Jorge Lanza
University of Cantabria (Spain)
Jorge Lanza received a degree in telecommunications engineering from the University of Cantabria (UC), Spain, in 2000. Since then he has been a researcher at the Network Planning and Mobile Communications Laboratory of that university, where he is currently working toward a PhD. in communications engineering. He collaborates giving lectures and practical courses at the university and in national and international conferences. He has participated in several research projects, national and international, with both private and public funding. As a member of the Technological Observatory for Smart Cards at the University of Cantabria (OTTIUC), he also works with highly regarded manufacturers, banking entities and mobile operators acquiring experience in smartcard technology. Current research in combined mobility and security for the wireless Internet is been carried out based on the merging of wireless technologies and smartcards for current and next generation networks.
Serra Luck
HID Global
Serra Luck joined HID Global in 2010 and is the Director for End User and Consultant Business responsible for EMEA. Her key responsibilities include educating the market regarding security technology developments in EMEA region, being the “Trusted Advisor” to both the End-user and Consultant communities for best practices in security and helping to build road map for deployment of these practices. Before joining HID Global, Serra worked in the Identity and Access Management space at Siemens AG and within the IT industry at Oracle Corporation. She has a degree in Statistics and an MBA in International Management.
Ranier Lutz
Rainer Lutz is the Senior Global Marketing Manager for Access Management in the NXP Business Unit Security and Connectivity. Rainer is coordinating all activities regarding access management within NXP Semiconductors. He is located in Graz at the NXP development centre for contacless smart card technologies. With a team of marketing, business development and account managers he supports individual projects with leading operators, system integrators, reader and card manufacturers. He is an active member of standardization committees and a regular speaker at conferences. Rainer holds Masters degrees in Cybernetics, Engineering and Philosophy from the Ecole Centrale Paris and the University of Stuttgart. He is married and proud father of two sons.
Eugene McKenna
Waterford Institute of Technology (Ireland)
Eugene McKenna as CEO of Campus Services at Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. Eugene has managed and directed the rapid expansion of the students’ services unit at the Institute. Prior to this, he was a Lecturer in Engineering Technology. His continuous research in the smart card technology, culminated with the successful implementation of the WITCard at the Institute, brought multi-application smart card technology to a campus for the first time ever in Ireland. Eugene was awarded the NACCU professional development award in 2004. He was one of the main drivers that pioneered the establishment of the European Caampus Card Association (ECCA). He was also the leader in ensuring the European Education Connectivity Solution Project was approved within the EU and currently plays a mayor role in the project delivery.
Bertrand Michaux
Bertrand Michaux is Director of Global Accounts at Gemalto, the world leader in digital security. Gemalto is involved in many university campus cards projects, delivering the card, some issuance solutions and some applications such as digital signature or mobile applications. Bertrand has been with Gemalto since 1994, working in France, Brazil and United States in various positions in sales and marketing. He is currently in charge of all the coordination of the activities between Gemalto and global financial institutions such as Banco Santander and American Express.
Haiko te Neues
Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany)
Haiko te Neues is responsible for software development and it-security at the department for information services at Ruhr-University Bochum. Since joining in 2005 he introduced standardized pki based smartcards for students and staff. He is head of a team developing specialized software for university administration and is consultant for it-security. Offering high quality services for confidential data is one of his major concerns.
Morgan Persson
Lund University (Sweden)
Morgan Persson works in the IT department at the faculty of engineering at Lund University. He started as a student in Master of Science Electrical Engineering at Lund University in 1996. After working a few years for the department of Information Technology he joined the faculty IT department in 2004 where he works as an system administrator / IT architect. Many services around the LU Card has been developed at Lund University and Morgan has since 2005 when the pilot for the LU Card started he has spent about half of his time on the LU Card project. Lund University joined ECCA in 2006 and Morgan has been a member of the ECCA board since 2009.
Vicente Prior

Vicente Prior holds a MSc degree in Physics by University of Salamanca (Spain, 1984) and an MBA degree by IESE, University of Navarra (Spain, 1993). He joined Arthur Andersen in 1986, where he worked in its consulting division until 1991, developing works on office and petrol stations automation, telecomunications private networks and smart cards in Madrid, Barcelona, Geneva, London and Chicago. Since 1991 he has worked in the Santander banking group, first in Banesto as Selfservice Manager, later in 1994 in Santander at the Technology and Operations Division as Payment Systemas and Electronic Banking Manager. Since 1998 he is corporate director of the University Smart Card. In 2010 he added the responsibility of products and channels at Santander Universities Global Division.
Carsten Traupe
Carsten Traupe, Director Marketing with NXP Semiconductors’ eGovernment division, by education holds a master in physics. Since almost two decades he occupies senior product management and marketing roles in different areas of the digital identification industry. Before joining NXP Semiconductors, he worked for international high profile companies incl. HID Global, Siemens and Honeywell. Carsten has lived for several years abroad in Stockholm, Sweden, and when not working, enjoys photography.
Aznar Sethna

Aznar Sethna is the Educational Business Manager for Salto Systems Ltd. Salto supplies the access control market with a totally user friendly stand-alone system. Aznar has worked for nine years in access control market and resposibilities include management of the business development and strategy efforts in the Educational Sector. Aznar studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of San Sebastián, Spain.
Michal Strzelecki
Technical University of Lodz (Poland)
Michal Strzelecki (MMSE’88, PhD’95, DSc’06) is at the Technical University of Lodz in Biomedical Engineering Division, Institute of Electronics (as an Associated Professor since 1997). He became a Deputy Director of the Institute of Electronics. He was working as a Visiting Professor in the Division of Electronics & Information Engineering at Chonbuk National University in the Republic of Korea (in 2007 and 2008). His research interests are artificial neural networks, image analysis, pattern recognition and campus card systems and is an author or co-author of more than 180 scientific publications. Prof. Strzelecki is a member of Board of Directors of European Campus Card Association. He is also a member of Association for Image Processing and Polish Society of Medical Informatics.
Dr. Kristy L. Vienne
Sam Houston State University – NACCU Representative (USA)
Dr. Kristy Vienne is the Assistant Vice President for Student Services and the Director of Bearkat OneCard Services at Sam Houston State University, where she has worked for the past twelve years supporting the development of a card program from the ground up. Kristy has been an active member of NACCU since 2003. Kristy has served on the NACCU Board of Directors for the past five years. She currently serves as Past-President of NACCU for 2014-15. Kristy has also been Chair of the Education Committee from 2010-2011 and Chair of New Professionals Institute for 2011. Kristy is actively involved in the educational and research components of the card profession and the area of financial literacy in higher education. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing and Master of Arts in Student Personnel Services at Northwestern State University. She received her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
